Dear_Gnome: An open letter community for WoW

Dear Log In Queues,

Ok, so...I enter my password and authenticator information and am greeted by the "Bleeding Hollow is Full" queue box. It says I am #600something and my wait time is 188 minutes. Um. Sure. Ok. Having nothing else to do, I wait. And wait. And wait. And play some games on my iPad. And wait. Oh, now I'm #500something with a 108 minute wait time...click over to facebook, click back...still #500something but now it's only an 18 minute wait. Sure, ok...this time, I decide to keep the game up on the screen instead of tabbing out and what do I see? The wait time fluctuates like crazy, anywhere from 10 to 120 minutes at any given second. I jump down a few places in queue, then shoot back up 20-30 for no reason at all. I mean, how can people possibly get in front of me? After sitting and watching this for over an hour, I finally get logged in. I understand that my server is full, but there's no logic whatsoever to these queue times! So frustrating! And it wouldn't even be so bad if I could have switched servers and messed around on my low pop realm alts, but no. No, that option froze up the computer the three times I attempted it on a second account. So much wasted time last night.

But hey, at least once I finally got the hunter in I got Thori'dal, right? :D

IIRC, one of the reasons your place in queue could jump is that people log off, but then they log into an alt. When they log off, your place in queue probably rises. But if they log into an alt on the same server, your place probably drops, since they weren't logging out of the game entirely (or to another server).

Also, I think if they log out entirely but log back in within a few minutes, they don't have the queue (to handle disconnects), but I'm not sure if this is still a thing or not.

But hey, Thori'dal! Grats!

It is still a thing, thankfully, or I'd be throwing my toys out of the pram because the power around here is being REALLY weird. Usually mid-raid.

WRA has been having them lately, and I hadn't seen one since Wrath either. Not happy!

According to my partner, our realm (Bleeding Hollow) is (or was, I don't stay current on these things) ranked #1 for PvP, so we've had an influx of guilds transferring to the realm over the past few months. I've been hearing rumors that a lot of guilds are now turning around and leaving BH, so hopefully I won't have to sit in queues much longer!
